Overview
Creating the monumental 55-foot-tall entry for this development required the football to seamlessly merge with the building’s primary structure. At the time, industry-standard 2D drawings posed significant challenges when it came to crafting this intricate design. To overcome this, the innovative Walter P Moore team embraced emerging 3D modeling technology, revolutionizing design and construction practices in the process. This forward-thinking approach empowered the architect, contractor, and steel detailer to collaboratively bring this iconic entry to life while significantly minimizing waste and construction time.

About the Project
This remarkable $32 million design/build facility serves as the new headquarters and training center for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Made of three distinct structures, this impressive complex redefines the landscape of professional sports facilities in the region.
The centerpiece is the Main Building, “One Buc Place Corporate Office,” serving as the nerve center for the Buccaneers’ operations, seamlessly blending functionality with modern aesthetics. Adjacent is the Maintenance Building, and completing the trio is the Weight/Central Energy Plant. This building houses the sophisticated infrastructure required to power the entire complex and provides ample space for the team’s robust weight training program—a cornerstone of their athletic prowess.
The Buccaneers’ new headquarters and training facility features three natural grass practice fields equipped with state-of-the-art lighting. It also includes a team dining room, a draft room for strategic planning, a locker room with 70 permanent lockers, three hydrotherapy pools for injury rehabilitation and recovery, an auditorium spanning 4,000 square feet, and the crown jewel of the facility, an expansive 10,000-square-foot weight room. In short, it’s a place where cutting-edge technology, sustainable design, and athletic excellence converge, setting a new standard in the NFL.
