Overview
The Greater Houston Section of TexITE announced their annual Young Engineer of the Year Award winner, Yubrani Pinch, PE, PTOE. This honor serves to recognize Pinch’s technical ability and professional achievements, as well as her civic activities.
Pinch joined Walter P Moore in 2015 and is an Associate in the Houston office. She is a licensed Professional Engineer and Professional Traffic Operations Engineer in Texas and Louisiana with nearly a decade of experience.
Yubrani manages several project types throughout Texas, utilizing her expertise in managing traffic impact studies, signal warrant analyses, traffic signal timing, traffic signal design, traffic control plans, signing, and pavement markings. She specializes in government, city, and DOT projects. She is proficient in transportation software packages, including Synchro, Vistro, and VISSIM.
She is licensed in two states and holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and a minor in Mathematics from McNeese State University. She has been a member of ITE since 2017 and was voted the Chair of the Younger Members Committee in the TexITE Houston Section in May 2019. Yubrani is also a member of WTS and assisted with running the Mentorship Committee virtually in 2020.
“As Young Engineer of the year and chair of the TexITE Younger Members Committee, my goal is to connect transportation students with tangible experiences and professionals in the field,” Pinch says. “I aim to mentor, encourage, and expose future generations to all of the exciting opportunities and challenges that the engineering industry brings.”
FUN FACT: Growing up in Bolivia, Pinch participated in a High School Student Exchange program where she lived with three different American families studying and experiencing other cultures, simultaneously meeting others from around the world.
