Global engineering firm Walter P Moore is a signatory firm of the 1.5˚C COP26 Communiqué which was sent to international government leaders headed to the United Nations Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP 26). The Communiqué is an open letter to government leaders and demonstrates the signatories commitment to meet the Paris Agreement’s 1.5˚C carbon budget and demands governments do the same. More than 60 of the largest and most influential AEC firms responsible for over $300 billion in annual construction, along with two dozen organizations representing over one million building industry professionals worldwide have participated in the Communiqué.

Global government leaders will convene for climate negotiations at COP 26 from October 31 through November 12 in Glasgow, Scotland.

As part of their efforts to reduce carbon in the built environment, Walter P Moore released Embodied Carbon, A Clearer View of Carbon Emissions, a report which details essential measures the AEC industry can incorporate to ensure near-term reductions in greenhouse gas emissions.
