Overview

Walter P Moore’s Dallas office recently made the strategic decision to relocate their operations to Ross Tower, a 45-story high rise downtown. Currently the 14th-tallest building in the city, the new location offers everything from a fitness center to a steakhouse, and with its proximity to restaurant and entertainment options, provides numerous opportunities for team members and clients to connect inside or outside the office.

“We are seeing a lot of resurgence efforts currently in Downtown Dallas,” says Ernest Fields, Managing Director of Dallas’ Civil Group. “Ross Tower underwent some renovations a few years ago and has an up-to-date ground floor. Many downtown properties are trying to interact more with the ground level exterior (streets and sidewalks) and it will be fun to be in a building that has already made those improvements.”

Hunter Lee, Senior VP of Leasing at Ross Tower adds, “We are thrilled to have a best in class, national firm like Walter P Moore join our tenancy at Ross Tower. Their long-term commitment to the building and to Downtown Dallas further validates the continued momentum of the neighborhood.”

Global Connection
The office’s engineering services encompass Structures, Infrastructure, and Diagnostics. The new location will allow all teams to operate on the same floor, creating a more cohesive environment capitalizing on the synergy between groups. “One of the features we are most looking forward to is the number of collaboration spaces and conference areas available,” adds Jacob Bice, Managing Director of Dallas’ Diagnostics Group. “In our modern business environment where we are work-sharing across multiple offices—serving clients across the U.S. and internationally—these state-of-the-art spaces enable our team to be better connected, engaged, and ultimately serve our clients at a higher, more efficient level.”

In addition to almost 360-degree views of downtown, the modern space with touches of the firm’s traditional roots houses larger meeting spaces, break areas, an open concept floorplan, and VR room. “We also have a much larger, expandable Moore Room which allows us to host events like ACE mentoring sessions—a very important aspect of investing in our industry’s future,” adds Vicki Ford, Managing Director of Dallas’ Structures Group. “We are also closer to some of our clients allowing for more personal interaction and engagement.”

Green Effects
The LEED-certified building offers several employee advantages including tenant lounges, a cafeteria, Starbucks, a boardroom, and a 100-person training space available for team gatherings. “I’m very pleased with some of the new amenities available to our staff,” comments Bice. “We’re also right across the street from the downtown YMCA which gives folks options for keeping up with their healthy lifestyles.”

Commuter-friendly and supporting the firm’s overall sustainability efforts, Ross Tower is less than a mile from Akard Station, a segment of DART(Dallas Area Rapid Transit). Recent studies have shown that transit commuters experience less stress and overall satisfaction in life. While drivers can feel stressed or angry sitting in their cars for an hour or more a day—equating to 250 hours per year—transit riders often take the ‘extra’ time to decompress by reading, thinking, or just relaxing. Additionally, commuters who utilize public transit also save significantly on parking, fuel, and car maintenance costs.

Growth Ahead
Poised for continued growth, Walter P Moore welcomes the opportunity to continue to build team members, cultivate client relationships, and invest in their community. “With this move, we have renewed our commitment to Downtown Dallas,” adds Fields. “There has been a lot of exciting revitalization of the area and it’s really rewarding to be a part of it.”
