An Ounce of Prevention is Worth a Pound of Cure: Sports Venue Assessment and Capital Planning

In the July/August 2017 issue of Concrete Repair Bulletin, Randy Beard and Spencer Livermore discuss the importance of regular evaluations and long-term maintenance plans in extending the service life of sports venues and ensuring an optimal fan experience. Follow them as they conduct three structural assessments in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania — involving a football stadium (Heinz Field), a ballpark (PNC Park), and PPG Paints Arena — and compile and prioritize their findings into a long-term capital asset management plan (CAMP) for use by each facility.
