Senior Structural Engineer

Responsibilities

Walter P Moore in San Francisco is looking for a Full Time Senior Structural Engineer with at least 7 years of experience in design of large commercial and institutional building structures. Qualified candidates will have an opportunity to design a variety of structural projects including office buildings, university, hospitality, healthcare facilities, sports venues and other large commercial structures with construction costs of $25 million and up.

  • Work closely with a team of structural engineers and drafters, providing leadership during analysis, design and construction administration project phases
  • Lead the team in preparation of structural calculations, drawings and specifications packages
  • Lead the team in construction administration duties, including responses to RFIs, review of submittals, and site visits.
  • Interface with Architects and Contractors in meetings and through email/phone
  • Mentor development of young engineers.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in California structural design of new buildings and seismic evaluation of existing buildings
  • California PE and SE Licenses required
  • M.S. in Structural Engineering
  • DSA and/or OSHPD experience a plus
  • Experience with the CSI suite of structural analysis software
  • Experience in Performance Based Seismic Design and nonlinear analysis a plus
  • Working knowledge of BIM Modelling Software (Grasshopper, Rhino, Revit, Dynamo, Tekla)
  • Demonstrated ability to work creatively with architects to solve complex design problems
  • Concrete, Timber, and Steel design experience is preferred
  • Demonstrated strength in providing excellent customer service.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

This position has an annual salary range as stated below and is, in good faith, an estimate. The actual offered salary will be dependent on the candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities, geographic location, industry experience and internal equity.
