Project Accountant

Responsibilities

We have an immediate opening for a motivated individual who can effectively support project accounting needs for various groups within the company. In this Houston-based position, the Project Accountant will have the following responsibilities:

  • Responsible for accurate project set up according to the terms of the executed contract
  • Process monthly billing
  • Responsible for reviewing weekly timesheets and expense reports
  • Responsible for vouchering vendor invoices
  • Works directly with Project Managers to monitor and analyze project financial management through the life cycle of projects
  • Responsible for maintaining accounts receivable including coordinating with project managers, clients, and the AR Manager to ensure timely payments
  • Maintain electronic project files
  • Participates in annual peer review audit of project files

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in an accounting role
  • Accounting experience in the Design/Engineering/Construction industry is a plus
  • Proficiency in computer software, including MS Office Suite, and practical experience working with financial databases. Experience with BST10 is a plus
  • Demonstrates a strong commitment to client service with the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
  • Works well in collaboration with others and is self-driven
