Front-end Software Developer

Responsibilities

We are looking for a motivated, adaptable, proficient front-end developer. Someone who can understand the product goals, has the appetite for experimentation, who loves to learn new technologies and will take the initiative to propose and create appropriate solutions/options for changing situations.  

The ideal candidate would have experience with React and be able to work as a front-end developer on a larger team or have a broader experience in either UI/UX and/or database/API integration. Our team is responsible for developing and designing front-end web solutions to support the building design lifecycle.  

We are looking for candidates who are ready to roll up their sleeves and get work done!

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Gather requirements from stakeholders and work collaboratively within a team as well as independently on assigned projects 
  • Develop responsive and user-friendly web interfaces using React, HTML and CSS. 
  • Integrate front-end and back-end components to create seamless, end-to-end web applications. 
  • Build and own quality throughout the development cycle by writing automated unit tests, integration tests, functional tests, and UI tests 
  • Iteratively build application features to allow users to compare interactions with multiple options. 
  • Implement completely new features from scratch and work through integration of those features with the rest of the codebase. 
  • Constantly learning innovative technologies and new ways of approaching a problem 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related work experience 
  • Strong in JavaScript (ES6), HTML, and CSS 
  • Strong Web UI framework experience (React, Next JS, etc…)  
  • Able to implement completely new features from scratch and work through integration of those features with the rest of the codebase. 
  • Can write code that is ES Lint-compliant and cross-browser compatible 
  • High level of proficiency in Git 
  • Strong communication, customer service, troubleshooting, organizational skills, work prioritization, self-direction, and the ability to complete assigned work. 
  • Excellent English fluency, both spoken and written.  
  • Ability to work from your home without disruptions  

Desired, but not Required: 

  • Three.JS or React Three Fiber/Drei  
  • Continuous Integration experience  
  • Experience with SharePoint framework, MongoDB or SQL 
  • Prototyping experience: Adobe XD/Figma (with examples) 
  • Experience with Azure DevOps, release pipelines, application insights, blob storage. 
  • Experience extending Flask APIs with Python 
  • Some graphic design experience (e.g., Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop; and Microsoft PowerPoint) 
  • Experience with one or more test automation frameworks 

Hybrid Firm Position: 

As a Hybrid Firm, Walter P Moore combines the best of both worlds – blending work options to include in-office and home office environments. This allows us to offer more flexibility and work-life integration to our employees. Candidates applying for this position should have the ability to commute to or periodically travel to the affiliated office. 

To ensure the ability to setup a suitable home office space, Walter P Moore offers a one-time $1,000 stipend that would be paid upon completion of the first week of employment. An additional $50 monthly stipend will also be provided to cover ongoing home office expenses.
