Assistant BIM Manager - Civil

Responsibilities

Assistant BIM Manager is responsible for managing the technical process of CAD/BIM production of land development projects. Requires oversight, review, and working with the design team and senior leadership to create best of class documentation, policies, and CAD/BIM production processes for use within the group. Close coordination with Project Managers, CAD Managers and Team Directors, may recommend design changes.

Performs non-routine and complex assignments from verbal instructions and under minimal supervision; considerable Civil 3D and BIM skills are required to visualize and portray complex design features. Troubleshoots problems, heads quality control, and reviews the work of subordinates.

In this position, the Assistant BIM Manager will work with a team of engineers for the pursuit, design and production of various civil engineering projects, including the following responsibilities:   

  • Coordinates with team Leaders/Sr. Engineers for the needs of CVIL 3D/BIM related work, technology upgrades, and improvements in Workload resourcing
  • Coordinates with Corporate IT in the development of new CIVIL 3D/BIM Technologies
  • Performs quality control procedures (e.g., quality checklists, spot checks, drawing set reviews, etc.)
  • Develops and maintains in-house drafting tools and processes with Technical Management Group
  • May assist supervising engineer and management as a technical specialist and advisor to mentor and train engineers, and cad technicians
  • Monitors performance of personnel on a continuous basis and reviews performance with individuals per company guidelines
  • Use Civil 3D and Civil 3D supported analysis and modeling software to perform design tasks such as site layouts, site grading, site drainage and utilities, surface modeling and analysis, creation of alignments, creation of corridors, profiles, sections, and material take-offs for cost opinions
  • Assist supervising engineer in collection of project requirements and materials for project design and documentation
  • Able to apply basic engineering design principles, theories, and practices to complete assignments and manage multiple deadline
  • Able to organize and maintain project related information per company’s requirements and standards
  • Candidate who is very driven towards use of technology and latest tools in market to support Process Development, Business Development and Production Support for land development projects.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent but not limited.
  • 7-10 years of experience in civil design projects.
  • Proficient in use of Civil/3D, Detailed knowledge of C3D modules.
  • Basic knowledge of Civil 3D supported software (SSA, Hydra flow), and AutoCAD. Good working knowledge of Navisworks, Infraworks.
  • Knowledge of other software systems such as Microstation, Open Roads, ArcGIS, Autodesk Revit etc, a plus.
  • Knowledge of US State and local rules, regulations, standards, and procedures a plus.
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong client-service attitude with ability to multi-task and accomplish multiple priorities.
  • Strong Organisational and communication skills.
