About the project

This state-of-the-art facility is the result of a groundbreaking collaboration between Sporting Kansas City, the national sports federation (U.S. Soccer), and Children’s Mercy Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation Center. It stands as a testament to U.S. Soccer’s commitment to advancing the sport in the United States, providing a comprehensive ecosystem that nurtures talent, educates coaches, and delivers top-tier medical support.

The Compass Minerals National Performance Center features five professional outdoor soccer fields, and a central hub with a fully wired coaching pavilion, classrooms, a cafeteria, and an auditorium. The facility also houses dedicated locker rooms for Sporting Kansas City and U.S. Soccer, two hydrotherapy suites for player recovery, advanced sports performance labs, a fully equipped gymnasium, and a cutting-edge radiology center for swift injury diagnosis and treatment.

These facilities serve both seasoned professional as well as youth athletes, thanks to a  pioneering collaboration with Children’s Mercy Hospital, which brings the Children’s Mercy Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation Center within the complex. This partnership offers an extensive array of sports medicine services and resources to youth athletes in all sports. This transformative development stands as a beacon of progress in the development of American soccer, offering cutting-edge facilities and support for players, coaches, and aspiring athletes.
