State House Garage Repair
The original concrete slab of The State House on Congress parking garage was poured too thin and resulted in extensive cracking of the concrete decks. Also, previous localized repairs by others created a checkerboard of uneven concrete patches in the drive aisles. Walter P Moore developed a comprehensive restoration approach to restore structural integrity, as well as upgrade the overall performance and appearance. The cracked concrete was replaced with a rapid curing high strength concrete repair material. Other updates included new tube steel vehicle barriers at the perimeter to replace an outdated two-cable system, new lighting to improve visibility, and high-performance coating to enhance the life of the steel elements. The garage remained functional during the repairs.
