Upon completion in 2015, the new upscale Dream Plaza will provide its residents a mixed-use facility offering retail, office space, work-out facilities, green areas, and a cafeteria. The 18,000 square meters of office will be for lease with 525-space parking in seven levels.
In a departure from the construction norm in Panama, Walter P Moore designed a building utilizing one way post-tensioned slabs supported on long-span shallow post tensioned concrete beams for all floors and perimeter framing. The shallow post-tensioned design allowed for greater office lease depths, increased parking efficiency, and enhanced user experience due to long-spans and many column free spaces. Lateral loads are resisted by efficient concrete shear walls at the building core and parking.
Walter P Moore provided Structural Engineering services through the design development phase. The local engineer carried our design through construction documents.
