Costa Del Este Office Tower
Walter P Moore provided structural engineering design and documentation services for this new 24-story steel framed tower with 111,000 square meters of office lease space and five levels of parking. In a departure from the construction norm in Panama of a cast in place post tensioned concrete system, this building utilizes a more efficient composite structural steel for all floors. Lateral loads are resisted by efficient concrete shear walls at the building core. Schuff Steel of Phoenix, AZ (USA) for whom Walter P Moore worked as a sub-consultant fabricated and erected all structural steel. This building was one of the first major buildings in Panama that utilized structural steel as primary material for all gravity framing.
