Located in Uptown Houston, 3009 Post Oak Boulevard is a 20-story, 302,000-SF Class A, pre-certified LEED Platinum facility that includes an integrated eight-story, 1,020-space parking garage. This tower is bounded by Post Oak Boulevard, Hidalgo, and the IH 610 Southbound Frontage Road. Since this area of Uptown Houston is congested already, our traffic engineering team was engaged to supply a traffic impact analysis study, site circulation review, and loading dock review. A scoping meeting with the City of Houston determined that six major intersections and site driveways needed to be included in the study. Analysis was completed using the traffic software called Synchro, which had to take into account the future METRO Uptown Light Rail Line. We recommended solutions for traffic signal operations, lane configurations, and driveway configurations to make this area of town more driver-friendly.
