Although the face of healthcare is changing, the primary purpose of the hospital is still to provide the best possible healthcare and health maintenance services to the patient. The successful design of a hospital goes beyond the needs of the patient and must also meet the financial requirements of the owner, consider the space and efficiency demands of the staff, and create an environment that eases the concerns of the visitor.

Walter P Moore understands that although most hospitals have the same basic requirements, each facility is as individual as the patients it will serve. We have provided engineering services for dozens of facilities in the world-famous Texas Medical Center since the 1940’s as well as other top tier providers including Mayo Clinic, Emory Healthcare, Duke Medicine, Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, Florida Hospital, and UT Southwestern Medical Center.

Our experience includes significant work in ambulatory care, pediatrics, women’s, cancer, research, and proton therapy. Project types range from small renovations to several projects in excess of 1 million SF.  These projects include structural accommodation for cutting edge medical equipment, including design for vibration control and radiation shielding, phasing for future expansion, special detailing to prevent infection control issues, long term adaptability and flexibility, and hazard mitigation.   Our infrastructure and diagnostics engineers also have expertise in complex medical campus site utility infrastructure, in-situ vibration monitoring, building enclosure assessments, and a wide variety of other forensic capabilities.
